Purcell colleagues come together for annual Day Out

Nearly 300 colleagues from across Purcell's UK and Asia Pacific studios came together at Regent's University London for our annual Day Out, our biggest gathering to date.

Held in the historic surroundings of Regent's Park, the event celebrated another successful year for the practice and strengthened the relationships that underpin our collaborative culture

The morning featured updates from the Board and practice leaders, reflecting on a year that has seen gnificant project wins, prestigious national and international awards, continued investment in learning an sid development, and growth across the business. Colleagues also heard about key initiatives shaping the future of the practice, including our B Corp journey and our continued development as an employee-owned business.

A highlight of the day was the annual Purcell Awards. This year saw a record number of nominations submitted by colleagues, recognising achievements across every region and discipline. The awards celebrated excellence in project delivery, collaboration and inclusion, innovation and professional development.

Project presentations highlighted work from across the practice, with colleagues sharing updates on projects including the Bank of England, Salford Cathedral, the British Museum, and The Lands by Capella in Sydney, to name a few.

Following lunch, Jack Pringle, Chair of the RIBA Board of Trustees, spoke about the House of Architecture programme at 66 Portland Place, where Purcell is leading the transformation of RIBA’s headquarters. Colleagues then took part in a range of activities, including guided architectural tours of Purcell projects around Regent’s Park alongside boating on the lake and Ngumpie bracelet weaving led by Purcell’s Tasmania lead, Lucy Burke-Smith, who shared the cultural significance of the traditional craft.

"Our Annual day out is truly unique and really does capture the Purcell culture. For one day each year we come together to meet and catch up with colleagues from across our regions – there's nothing quite like meeting in person, forging new relationships and strengthening old ones. It's been a fantastic year for team Purcell, and the contribution from each and every one of our people has been immense."
