Green Island Lighthouse 青洲燈塔

Conserving and safeguarding historic site
We were engaged by the Architectural Services Department of the HKSAR Government to support the ongoing preservation of the Green Island Lighthouse Compound — a rare and historically significant maritime site on the western approach to Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong.
Heritage conservation with digital innovation
Our commission included the development of a Conservation Management Plan and a Heritage Building Information Model (HBIM), reflecting our integrated approach to conservation and digital technology.
This unique site comprises two lighthouses, with the original structure dating from 1895 and its replacement — still in operation — constructed in 1904. Together, they are part of a group of only five pre-war lighthouses remaining across Hong Kong. Accompanying these are a Former European Staff Quarters and a Keeper’s House, forming a cluster of heritage buildings that were collectively became Declared Monuments in 2008.
Beyond its navigational legacy, the compound has witnessed various adaptive reuses, including service as a Police recreation facility and later as a rehabilitation centre operated by the Wu Oi Christian Centre.
