Steve Phillips

Steve is a Registered Architect (UK), Partner and the Hong Kong studio lead. He has over 20 years working experience reimaging the historic built environment.
With a background spanning architecture, masterplanning, and heritage consultancy, he is adept at overcoming modern day challenges, successfully embedding environmentally conscious design with preservation of cultural significance. His pragmatic and collaborative nature is reflective of a key role advisor on several conservation projects currently undergoing transformation and adaptive reuse across our core cultural, public and hospitality sectors.
Key completed projects include Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts in Hong Kong, former Bukit Timah Racecourse in Singapore and alteration and addition projects with private members clubs including the Hong Kong Cricket Club where a full complement of services from feasibility studies, impact assessments, conservation plans, technical packages, and construction works have been delivered.
Steve is an Adjunct Assistant Professor teaching on the MSc (Conservation) programme at the University of Hong Kong and has also lectured at other prominent universities in south-east Asia, including the National University of Singapore.
He authored several of Tai Kwun’s Award-winning entries, including the RIBA International Award of Excellence submission.
