Nick Chantarasak

Nick was the project architect and delivered the National Portrait Gallery’s Inspiring People Project in collaboration with Jamie Fobert Architects which was nominated for the Stirling Prize in 2024. He is currently leading on the transformational redevelopment project at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Nick first joined Purcell’s Bristol studio as a Part I Architectural Assistant before moving to our London studio. His previous projects include the National Gallery, Somerset House, Brunel Museum, and the Peter Jones Department Store.
As well as working on an impressive rollcall of projects, Nick was active in the first Purcell Design Programme in 2017, and led subsequent ones, with the most recent in 2024 where he led the group that visited the Architectural Association’s Hooke Park in Dorset for a series of workshops in the use of timber in construction.
