James Bailey
BA (Hons) MArch RIBA
James joined Purcell in 2014 after returning to East Anglia following his Part II studies and professional experience in and around Winchester, Hampshire, where he worked primarily on residential projects within historic and conservation settings.
He qualified as an architect in 2017 and is known for building strong, collaborative relationships across consultant teams, clients, and contractors. James particularly enjoys working within design-and-build procurement and has delivered a range of large and complex projects, both locally in Norfolk, including the Norfolk County Hall Phase 2 refurbishment and projects at Norwich Research Park, and nationally in support of other Purcell offices.
In 2025, James was added to the RIBA Principal Designer Register, having demonstrated the required knowledge, skills, and experience under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the amended Building Regulations. He continues to develop his collaborative approach to design and project delivery across the residential, public, and commercial sectors.
