Claire Cockburn  

Claire is a Senior Architect in Purcell's Edinburgh studio. With over fifteen years' experience working as an architect in Scotland, Claire joined Purcell's Edinburgh studio in 2024. She has RIAS accreditation in both conservation and sustainable architecture and is also a certified Passivhaus designer.

Claire is passionate about bringing new life to old buildings through careful repair and conservation combined with sensitive contemporary interventions.  As a skilled architect and design team leader, she has worked on numerous projects involving listed buildings and within conservation areas across Scotland. She has also delivered several certified Passivhaus projects. Her interests lie in innovative sustainable design, conservation, and the refurbishment and re-use of existing buildings, all aimed at delivering low operational energy and carbon solutions using local materials.

Claire is also Vice Chair of the Women in Property Central Scotland branch, a network that creates opportunities, expands knowledge and inspires change for women working in the property and construction industry.
