Alex Jeremy
BA (Hons) MArch RIBA AABC
Alex is an experienced architect working in the Bristol studio. He holds specialist conservation accreditation from the AABC and combines excellent creative design skill and outstanding technical knowledge.
His focus is on the care of historic buildings through the holistic appraisal of building condition and the development and delivery of complex conservation projects in close collaboration with a broad range of clients and consultants and Purcell’s heritage consultancy and building surveying teams. Recognising that building defects provide opportunity for upgrade, Alex continuously seeks to identify and integrate key threads in any design or conservation challenge and develop solutions which understand and celebrate original purpose, intent, and significance to balance any potential harm.
Alex is the architect appointed to the Grade I-listed John Wesley’s New Room alongside other churches and is a member of the Methodist Church’s national Listed Buildings Advisory Committee. Alex is keen to develop opportunities for learning within the client and consultant team and meaningful public engagement in conservation and repair works, is an associate lecturer in architecture, and maintains strong practical interests in craft and repair.
