The transformed National Portrait Gallery opens its new doors to the public

Purcell and Jamie Fobert Architects' transformation and restoration of the National Portrait Gallery has opened to unanimous critical and public acclaim.
Oliver Wainwright, architecture critic for The Guardian, has praised the National Portrait Gallery’s revamp, calling it “an astonishing revamp that has turned this once unloved London landmark into a great building”.
He noted that the transformation, which involved significant architectural changes and a complete re-presentation of the collection, resulted in a brighter, more engaging space.
