Purcell wins go ahead to restore Madeira Terrace

Brighton & Hove City Council has given Purcell the go-ahead to restore 30 of the 151 Victorian arches forming the Grade II-listed Madeira Terrace on Brighton seafront.
Our plans to restore and revitalise Brighton’s seafront promenade – opening up direct access to the waterfront along the eastern foreshore – have been approved by the local council.
Work on the restoration of Brighton’s Madeira Terrace will begin later next year following the approval: repair work on the eastern end of the 865-m long structure will be the first to start, coming alongside a new lift tower to improve access between the upper and lower levels of the promenade, which will get new seating and planting areas.
