Business Development Assistant / Researcher
This role will support our work winning teams to effectively identify opportunities to enable the continued growth, profile raising and success of Purcell.
As most of our work involves historic buildings, this opportunity would suit someone with an interest in the historic environment.
The role will enable you to develop your skills in research, strategic analysis and understanding across a wide variety of topics.

The role
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake research tasks across a range of sectors and subject matters using a variety of sources to provide market intelligence and identify new business opportunities.
- Communicate and present research results in an engaging way to a range of internal stakeholders.
- Support targeted business development campaigns.
- Undertake research into identified targets, collaborators and other stakeholders ahead of external meetings.
- Research and identify relevant events to showcase Purcell’s expertise and experience.
- Updates to Purcell’s Client Relationship Management system (CMap) as necessary.
- Collateral support: where necessary, assist in the preparation of collateral to support outreach to identified targets.
- Be part of and collaborate with the wider work winning team across the practice to share intelligence and knowledge.
Person Specification / Profile
- Experience undertaking research across a range of sources.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyse large amounts of information and communicate them effectively.
- High standards of accuracy and presentation – ability to convey output in an engaging format.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to work proactively on own initiative and prioritise workload.
- Experience of dealing with people at all levels.
- Proactive ‘can do’ approach.
- Knowledge of the architecture / construction industry.
- An interest in the historic built environment.
- Enthusiasm for developing skills and knowledge.
- Positive outlook, professional, commitment to the role.
